The DRIFTERS visit Bridge Learning Campus By Weronika K (01/03/12)
Children in the Bridge Learning Campus primary school choir have been asked to perform at the Bristol Hippodrome stage.
The Drifters are a band most famous in the 1960’s and 1970’s and will be doing a tour of the country.
Michael Williams, the band's current lead singer, visited the campus in Bristol to see how the children are getting prepared for their big occasion.
This rehearsal was for the Drifters' Masquerade Tour which comes to The Bristol Hippodrome on Sunday 22d April.
We were invited to sing with them last year and it went down so well, that they have come back for more! There are 20 extremely excited children waiting to see the Drifters again and accompany the pop legends. The teacher Zoe Abbot said that they are extremely honored to be asked to perform on stage AGAIN!!!

BLC Build a Plane Project By Ryan Y, Regan B and Ashon B (28/02/12)
The BLC Build a Plane project is now entering it's second year and things are moving quickly!!! When asked in a recent interview when the plane is scheduled to be completed, project manager Mr P Buckley announced that it should be ready for it's ,maiden flight as early as this summer!!! Students from across years 7 to 11 and from our partner school Orchard have been working tirelessly every Tuesday to put the plane together. The pieces were delivered in January 2011 and took over a month to be catalogued, inventoried and stored is now beginning to look like an aeroplane.
Students here at BLC and Orchard, in partnership with Boeing and the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) have been working tirelessly every Tuesday to not only put together the pieces that have been delivered but also to use their engineering knowledge to engineer bespoke parts that will eventually form the Rans Coyote that is scheduled to take to the skies in the summer of 2013.
We spoke to some of the students taking part in the build and asked them what they enjoyed about the project and they replied that it was 'fun' and 'amazing to build an aeroplane that someone is going to fly!' although some students have found the task challenging they have all enjoyed the opportunity to try their hand at this once in a lifetime opportunity!

Costa Concordia Disaster By ASHON B
Events from Italy have had an impact here in Hartcliffe, one lady (who doesn't wish to be named) has had an anxious few weeks waiting to hear if a close friend of hers who was on board had survived.
On 13th January 2012 the Costa Concordia ran aground off the coast of Giglio with over 4,000 passengers on board. Relatives and friends of those on board waited anxiously to hear if their loved ones were safe. In this exclusive interview our reporter, Ashon spoke to one local lady who was waiting to hear if her work friend had made it off the doomed cruise ship. "when was the last time you spoke to him? 2 days before the accident" as this story was going to press she found out that her friend did not make it off the ship, when asked how she felt she replied "very sad". The victim, a young man (who cannot be named at this time) was only 28. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this time of sadness in their lives and to all the loved ones of the 25 people who are either missing or confirmed dead.(Images courtesy of www.bbc.co.uk)
